LAVENDER

You probably know what to use Lavender for, but please allow me broaden your understanding of this miraculous oil. doTERRA Lavender essential oil is the purest and most potent available on the market.  Firstly, the oil is sourced where it grows naturally – Bulgaria and the high alps of France. Secondly, the oil is tested multiple times before being bottled. doTERRA shares only Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils.  The Lavender is tested to be certain all the chemical constituents meet the therapeutic threshold. If any one element, say linalool, is not at the level that it is supposed to be, the oil is denied purchase at the source of the sale or later denied at the bottling plant when it is tested for the 4th time!  doTERRA is grounded in science, which means each and every bottle you order is the same excellent quality and will produce the same results – guaranteed. With that assurance in mind, let me share the many possibilities of this amazing gem!

Lavender can be used topically, aromatically and internally.  To begin, I invite you to think of Lavender as a calming essential oil – both for the body and mind.  For the body, Lavender is a wonder to address skin irritations because of its soothing properties.  Applied with doTERRA’s fractionated coconut oil, Lavender can be used to address temporary conditions like sunburn, bug bits, rashes, breakouts, razor bumps after shaving and wounds.

For the mind, think of reducing anxiety and tension.  Lavender can be used aromatically and internally in those scenarios .  Aromatic use includes diffusing, but is also as simple as adding a drop to your hand, rubbing your hands together, cupping your nose and inhaling 3-5 times.  You will adore the sense of calm that washes over you when you breathe in this beautiful oil. The olfactory nerves connect directly to the limbic system of your brain, helping to relieve feeling of stress on the spot.  Taken internally, 2-3 drops of Lavender helps to calm the central nervous system. This is a great option for those who need to address regular anxiety or intense situations that arise in our daily lives.

Another “aromatic benefit that Lavender oil is widely known for is its ability to promote a relaxing atmosphere that leads to a restful night’s sleep. The calming properties of the oil help create a serene environment that is optimal for resting well and staying asleep. Wondering how you can use Lavender essential oil aromatically to aid in relaxation for a better night’s sleep? Add a few drops of Lavender to your pillows or bedding so that you inhale the aroma as you are drifting off to sleep.”  Additionally, adding a diffuser to your nighttime routine means you can enjoy the aroma before bed, and it will continue to serve you as you sleep. You might also try applying Lavender oil to the bottom of your feet as a part of a relaxing bedtime ritual (“Lavender Oil Uses”).

Would you believe that is only the beginning?  Lavender’s analgesic properties means it can help with pain, too.  This Includes addressing head tension and monthly cramps – swipe right over the region of discomfort for quick relief.  As a flower oil, Lavender is also amazing for the complexion. You might add a drop to your daily moisturizer for an extra glow or make a DIY clay mask.  Lavender is also one of three oils, Lemon and Peppermint being the others, that combats seasonal discomfort. Say bye-bye to your over-the-counter remedies and hello to plant medicine that works to relieve all symptoms that follow an elevated pollen or ragweed count.   This is what made me a believer in the power of doTERRA essential oils, and it is the most common testimony to date in my oil community!
